NEW WWII FILM - #DUNKIRK!

It's May 1940 and British and Allied troops are stranded and surrounded on the beach at Dunkirk, France. The harbour is destroyed and our Royal Navy ships can't reach the soldiers. Overhead, the Luftwaffer continues bombing.  The Home Front civilians rally and arrive to rescue the stranded troops with their privately owned yachts, fishing trawlers, fishing boats and paddle boats. They ferry the soldiers to the Royal Navy vessels or take them back to Britain.

Hundreds of thousand of troops were rescued at Dunkirk,
during #OperationDynamo in May and June 1940, allowing Britain to continue to fight Germany during WWII.  The moving story of the bravery of the civilian sailors is well known and now there is going to be a film about it! The film is still at the pre-production stage, although talks are underway with actors Kenneth Branagh, and Tom Hardy, and filming is due to start in May 2016. Christopher Nolan's new film "Dunkirk" is scheduled for the cinema in July 2017!
