Black Country Living Museum 1940s Weekend 14th and 15th July 2018

Weeks of bright sunshine and sweltering temperatures here in the UK didn't deter the #1940s re-enactors or visitors to this picturesque #museum.

You could wander through the quaint Victorian village, or stop and enjoy a sample of navy rum from the Navy Online #re-enactors.

Or visit the many #vintage stalls, and buy your home front memorabillia and clothes.

So much to see and do at this very popular Midland event. Another great weekend!

STEP BACK TO THE @1940s Severn Valley Railway July 1940s

This was the scene at @Kidderminster Railway Station.  The D Day Darlings entertained the visitors to the steam railway.

Authentic homefront 1940s costumed re-enactors were everywhere including @WWII evacuee's waiting for their train.

A wartime shop with  tins of spam and vegetables, and clothing was ready for customers who had their ration books.

Laurel and Hardy were there chatting to everyone.

It was as if we had all stepped back in time!
